Happy 1st Birthday Ellie!

Ellie is turning one...and I was so excited to meet her and her mommy & daddy for a morning session. She is so adorable and dainty...she reminds me of my oldest daughter Abby at that age. Makes me smile :)

I usually start the little ones sitting with their parents so that they have time to warm up to me...but Ellie didn't need any warming up time...she isn't shy at all :)

But here she is all snuggled between mommy and daddy.

And gettin some sugar........aka..kisses.

Ellie has so much energy (oh what I wouldn't do for that energy)....she isn't walking yet..but I think it will be any day now. Here she is thinking about taking some steps.

I LOVE this image so much (my favorite of the day) and I can't decide if I like it better in color or black and white...so you get to see it both ways.

I just love her tu-tu and matching headband.

Getting lots of practice for this "walking thing". Like I have said before...once they start walking, life as you know it is never the same ;)

And hangin' with her beautiful momma....

And having some fun with her Daddy....I love these next two.

And it was cake time....I absolutely LOVE cake time. Parents probably thinking I am cuckoo...because I laugh my butt off. But it is just such a cute time...and honestly the "first" birthday is the only time people crowd around to watch you eat cake....it last only ONE year...makes me kind of sad. But that is the wonderful thing about capturing it all with photos.

Here is a little "birds eye view". Ellie wasn't too sure about her cake..but after a little help from her Daddy to get her started...she dug right in.....literally. What I loved about watching her is she really wanted to pick up the cake with her hands. Smart girl, she knows the best way to get a good bite is to pick it up :)

Yummmmmyyyyy!

Happy Birthday Ellie! I hope you enjoy your party and your second cake. May your second year be as fantastic as your first.
Liz, thanks so much for asking me to capture these sweet fleeting moments. I hope looking back on these in the years to come bring you guys many smiles.

Happy Birthday Jacob!

Lisa Kelly Photo is on a "1st Birthday Roll" and I LOVE it. I love capturing what I think is the most important birthday....I love how each of these little one year olds are so different and I love watching how absolutely in love the parents are with their child.

Laura contacted me to take some photos of Mr. Jacob...because Jacob was turning one. I liked Laura right away...some people you just know are awesome..and Laura is one of them. And as soon as I met her hubby Todd and Jacob....I could see that the whole family was the same way..awesome.

Here they are...given Jacob some lovin' :) Favorite family pic of the day!

Well...hello gorgeous! This is my favorite of Jacob...I have lots of favorites :)

Trying out my special birthday boy chair. This little chair has seen a lot of action lately.

This picture taken stuff is exhausting. :) He did so good...coming home from a long day of child care....and he was recently moved up to a room with kids his age and a bit older...it is all enough to wear any guy out.

I love his shirt.

We had such beautiful lighting that night...but it was hot as Haiti out there.
Laura you have such a beautiful smile.

Jacob seems to be quite the Daddies boy...but this smile...it was all for his momma. Another favorite.
Some serious thinking going on here.

Look at those eyelashes....and those eyes.

Jacob I hope your first year is full of lots of love, fun and adventures! I hope to see you again buddy.
Todd and Laura...thank you for inviting me into your home and for being so welcoming. I hope when your little guy is a BIG guy...these pictures warm your heart.
Hugs~

Family Coming Together To Celebrate a Very Special Birthday!

A 70th Birthday...of a Father, Husband, Grandfather and Great Grandfather....a legacy to be proud of.

This wonderful session came my way via one of my favorite clients Jody. Jody, Marc and Miss Morgan are the beautiful family that graced my blog a month or so ago. Jody's Dad was turning 70 and family was coming far and wide to be there to celebrate with him. And while people were in town..they all met with me.....which I was thrilled about.

I will be keeping the "chatter" to a minimum on this post and let these beautiful people and their love for one another speak for itself. Enjoy!

P.S. This is Jody, Marc and Morgan...see you remember them :)

One more thing (yea...this not being chatty thing is difficult for me)....ALL children should have Grandparents this amazing and fun loving. These next few are my absolute favorites of the day!

Thank you a million times for letting me capture these images of your time together! Happy Happy Birthday!!

Matlock Family

I know this fantastic family from Hanna Woods. Jen (aka mom) helps me on various committees and is such a sweet heart. Grant and my Emily are in the same class and he is such a nice little guy. And another thing about Jen...every time I see her she looks like a million bucks...and this session was no exception. Seriously, I don't think Jen ever has a bad hair, bad outfit...I have nothing to wear day....makes me a little depressed..ha ha. kidding :)

Here they are...and I love the emotions and expression in this shot. Emily...a Daddy's girl and also very comfortable in front of the camera. Grant with his serious look :) And Lauren with her ear to ear smile. Such a cute family!

This makes me smile. Lauren is all personality and as cute as can be! I also love any chance to showcase the "baby" of the family.

I adore this one of Grant...he has such great eyes. Actually all the kids have amazing eyes.
Grant has such a sweet smile.

Lauren you make me smile!

Emily your such a beauty!

Pulling out all the stops...making silly faces. I LOVE silly faces!

I couldn't get enough of Emily's eyes! And Emily was so easy to photograph...which of course I loved!

So sweet.

It make me so happy when mom and dad request pictures of just the two of them. I think they are so important. I think so many people stop doing "portraits" of themselves as soon as the wedding day ends. But love deepens and I think there is nothing better than capturing that love...the love of many years and kids together. So glad I was able to get these..they are some of my favorites of the day.

Oh how I adore this one!!

Green green everywhere!

Jen, thanks so much for contacting me for pictures. I had a great time with you guys!! I am sure I will see you up at school a lot this Fall. :)

Will is ONE!!!!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE repeat clients...seriously...I get very attached to my clients ( I know..I am a softy) so when I get to see them again and again, it thrills me beyond words.

So I was super psyched to get to "shoot" Will's first bday pics...and his mommy and daddy jumped in for some too...double bonus.

One thing I really love is the before and now pic...because man...these little guys grow so much that first year.

Here is Will from earlier this year...just a little peanut (I still am in love with that green button down and baseball tie...just sayin')

And here is Will now...a big one year old! And he is still rockin amazing hair!

And the whole family...I LOVE this family pic. Absolutely stunning. :)

Will took a little break (and I mean little...he is a mover and a shaker) and I loved that he sat in my favorite blue chair :)

Yes...your right Will....you are #1 buddy!

Mommy....aka the baby whisperer. So sweet, I love capturing these sweet tender moments. Lauren is an awesome mommy...she just beams when she is around Will...it is awesome to see.

Tickle time...Dan is a good tickler...not that I know that personally..ha! But he had Will crackin' up! Love it.

Will had just started to walk before our session and he got up and gave it a try a few times while we were together. Here he is with a little help from mommy and daddy. I can just see the look of pride and excitement on his face. But boy, once they walk...life as we know it is never the same.

I think he was laughing at the ducks...man there were some D-U-C-K-S at this park.

Time for cake...my favorite part! Will has the best cake pictures to date...he LOVES cake (a boy after my own heart) and I have to say I love how much he loves it. It makes me smile...anytime I am having a bad day...I just have to pull up Will's cake pictures and I am guaranteed a chuckle at least.

Here he is showing the #1 who is boss.....

You talking to me?? I am busy eating my cake :)

This session had a lot of firsts for me.
My car was dead when I went to leave...yep, left my lights on...felt like an idiot. Thanks again Lauren and Dan for the jump :)
First time a birthday cake was demolished...there was nothing left of it to show that it started in cake form and I love it!!
First time I feared for my life...I honestly thought a duck gang was forming and they were coming after us for laying a blanket down on their territory. I hid my fear well because I didn't want Dan and Lauren to think I was chicken. Oh and Dan got bit by flies...a lot. I felt really bad.
But at the end of the day...I had a great time because Lauren and Dan are super easy to be around and they have one of the cutest boys EVER...and I am lucky enough to get to photograph him.
Hugs!
