Cousins Make The Best Friends

I met up with this adorable family the night that Tornado's ripped through St. Louis. They were by far the bright spot in what was a pretty bad day. But look at these cuties...how could they not brighten your day.

We had a goal of getting some pictures of the cousins for a Mother's Day gift for Grandma. One the cutie on the left has been in front of my camera before...adore her. And I was equally excited to meet her cousins and to see they are just as adorable and so fun!

We got some family shots too and we lucked out with a great back up location to stay out of the rain. I love Ameristar :)

I adore this one!

The whole family :)

I love the perspective in this one. And the expression on that cute lil' pumpkins face....too cute!

These two cousins are just days apart in age. They are so lucky to have this "best friend" as they grow up. I thought it was adorable that they referred to each other as my "sister".

Thank you guys for braving the weather. I am so glad everyone made it home ok.
Happy Mother's Day!!

Erica Carr Hair and Make-Up Show

My friend Erica Carr is an amazing Hair & Make Up Artist. Here is a little quote from  her website www.ericacarr.com

Erica Carr is an artist and a professional who is dedicated to the business of beauty and the art of pleasing every client. With over 18 years of experience in the hair and makeup industry, Erica has fashioned signature looks for celebrities and models, created bold styles for magazine photo shoots, and produced flawless finishes for actors in television shows and commercials.

My friendship started with Erica when we were young kids and as life goes, people move away and lose touch. But with the amazingness of Facebook, I reconnected with Erica and learned that she is living a very happy and successful life in San Francisco.

Erica started planning this intimate Hair & Make Up show for St. Louis. I was so excited...not only to attend but also when she asked me to document it. The day was amazing...amazing food, lots of laughs, beautiful "models" and sooooo many great tips from a master in their field.

Erica started with a complete head to toe make over of Jenny. She then ended with a question and answer section were she would also demonstrate some make up tricks on some of the guests. Everyone had a great time.
Here are some highlights of the day....the location was a GORGEOUS light filled house in St. Alban's.

Erica it was soooo great to see you again. I am going to start planning my trip to San Francisco...can't wait to come to your town :)

One of my favorite lil' guys

I have to say the little guy on the right (who is TWO..hurray!) is my most photographed kiddo. He was just a "bun" in his momma's belly...when I photographed his older brother (the guy on the left)...and that folks was my first paying gig :) This guys momma holds a special place in my heart :) She is one of my sis in laws best-est friends, she was the first one that trusted me with a camera...and has referred countless people to me. Love ya Jen!
I think I say something to that degree every time I blog one of their sessions, so instead of sounding even more like a broken record....I will leave you to enjoy some gorgeous little boys!

This one cracks me up....I know he was saying something very important. :)

These cuties have some seriously BE-autiful eyes!

Oh how this face melts my heart...he gets me every time <3

I have to let you in on a little secret, every time I leave a session with him....I really want a little boy. I am usually VERY happy to be a mommy to all girls....but there is something about this little guy that really really makes me think I need a boy of my own. :)

Peeeeek-a-booooooo

Those were some super yummy fruit snacks that mom was bribing him with.

Thank you guys so much for again and again trusting me to capture these special moments in your lives. Your the BEST!!
xoxo

Brittany - Class of 2012

Meet Brittany....she is a fabulous 2012 Senior and she is very special to me :) She is my Goddaughter....I have had to privilege of watching her grow into this gorgeous creature that she is. Brittany's momma Meredith is one of my dearest friends...we have been friends close to 30 years (wow that makes me feel old). The Senior session was a bit surreal for me....I have watched Brittany go through so many stages of her live, some easier than others. So now that she is a High School Senior and getting ready to embark on the amazing journey of adulthood....it made me tear up a few times I have to say.

I am so very proud of Brittany, she is gorgeous (so very obviously) but she is funny, loyal...I think her mom would agree with me when I say stubborn :) But all of these things will serve her well in the years to come. I know Miss Britt is still deciding where the next path will take her...but I know in the end she will do amazing things. I love you Brittany! We are all so proud of you. I am so so honored to of been able to capture these images that when your old like me...girl your gonna be soooo glad you have them :)

I am soooo very proud of these images, I told my husband tonight that I feel they are my best work to date. I don't know if that is "technically" true, but in my heart that feels that way. I am sure my personal tie to this beautiful subject has something to do with it.

I will quit yapping...and let you enjoy this young lady with a bright future.....

Big Hugs Britt! We are looking forward to celebrating with you soon!
