It is Fun to be One!

This fun little family were the winning bidders on a Gift Certificate I donated to The Goddard School (where one of my favorite client families attend). I was so glad they won and that I got a chance to spend the morning with them. Their home was gorgeous...and the light...to die for. I am thinking about asking them if I can rent a room as a studio space :)

And seriously....how cute is this little guy?!? The purpose of our session was to capture the big monumental first birthday :) He looks pretty happy about it too.

Some seriously beautiful blue eyes you have there :)

Oh yea...I am ONE :) Loved that he has learned how to show people how old he is going to be.

And time for some book reading, this was a favorite page. :)

It was awesome to meet you guys! I really enjoyed our little session and Happy Happy Birthday to one adorable one year old :)

Just a Half an Hour at the Park

I was excited when I heard from a group of moms this spring asking if there was any way I would take "just a few" pictures of their kids so that they didn't have to suffer through the "horrible" school pictures (their words not mine!) :)

And so "30 Minutes at the Park" was born. For a lower rate than my regular family sessions, I will be offering a complete "lifestyle session" at a location of my choice. I want to capture these cuties just being themselves and not stuck in front of some generic, boring school picture background.

I got to test out this new fun little session with a little guy who has the world's BEST expressions. He is a classmate of my Emily's and there is a spark and a light in his eyes that is so sweet and charming. He had me on my toes, but I am so glad we did this. I of course grabbed a couple "posed" photos....but even as I was shooting those I was acting like a total goof, so I got the most natural smiles and laughs.

His momma was head over heels in love with these photos. She said no more school pictures ever again. That made my day :)

This picture was all his idea....and I must say my absolute favorite of the day! When I showed this to him on the back of my camera he was so excited and said "Wow! I really can jump high" :)

This was so much fun! I can't wait until the next 30 Minutes at the Park session, hopefully next week if the darn weather doesn't turn cold.

If you are interested in a fun alternative to "boring old school photos" drop me an email and I'll give you the details!

Cutest Lil' Cardinals Fan

I have been anxiously awaiting this little guys arrival. I met him when he was still cozy in his momma's belly..for his mommy & daddy's fabulous maternity shoot. Mason is a BEAUTIFUL baby...with the best little head of hair and his momma's gorgeous coloring.

I loved all the sweet moments of this new family of three that I was able to capture.

And a break for a little bottle and a little burp ;)

I LOVE this...it is like he is saying "Well, hi mommy"

Mommy....this picture taken stuff is hard work.

I would give a million dollars to have a photograph like this below with myself and one of my girls....LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!!

The cutest little Cardinal fan ever! I love his little hat with his name on it, he will have lots of fun going to games with mom and dad when he is bigger.

Lori and Mike, thank you so much for inviting me into your home to capture this first amazing moments. I can't wait to see you again in a few more months! I am beyond excited to watch Mason grow this first year!!

Love this Family!

I always get super excited for my sessions with this adorable family. I have had them in front of my camera quite a few times now...and I am always in love with the results. The session flies by because it is more like hanging out with friends than working....oh, and these kiddos...LOVE watching them grow...LOVE how gorgeous they are and most of all LOVE how sweet and kind they are to each other. I need to hit Andrea up for some tips...my girls want to claw each others faces off :) No...but seriously, we had a great time exploring a new "top secret" location...ha ha.
Enjoy....

I brought my little "Laugh" sign with me...and they were so great giving me their best "laughs" :)

LOVE LOVE LOVE this!! They are soooo easy to photograph, I could do it all day.

Thank you guys so much for continuing to be one of my favorite clients, for trusting me to capture your darling families memories through the last few years...for sending me countless referrals. I adore you and look forward to the next time!
xoxo!

Sweet Little Clara - Our Newest Family Member

On February 8th our family was blessed with it's newest member. My "baby" brother and his beautiful wife Jessica had their first baby...a sweet baby girl named Clara Vela Sexton. She is perfect and we all LOVE her soooo much. She makes the 5th granddaughter on our side...and the 6th grandchild on my sister in laws side. So as you can imagine..a TON of people ready to spoil her rotten.

I always knew my sister in law Jess would be an incredible mom...she has been an incredible step mom to my niece Kearsten for the past 8 years, Kearsten is so blessed to have her in her life. And my brother Shawn...now the Daddy to two little girls, he is beyond thrilled and he is such an incredible Dad. I am soooo sooo proud of him.

I wanted to start with a picture of me (ignore my hair please.ha!) and Shawn..the proud new Daddy. :)

Love this of Kearsten holding Clara the day she was born...the proud big sister.

And the rest were taken when Clara was 5 days old. There is something to be said about taking photos of a newborn that is related to you...just such a comfort and ease. Welcome to the world Miss Clara...you are so loved!
