My Sweet SIX Year Old

Happy Birthday Riley.
Six years ago today my hubby and I got up and headed to the Hospital at 4:30 a.m. for my scheduled C-Section. My Anesthesiologist was also pregnant and coming off of a 24 hour shift (don't know how that is even legal) and I took one look at her and could tell she was dead tired. Well....THREE epidurals later....we were on our way to adding a 3rd daughter to our family.

Riley's birth was the most enjoyable and relaxing of the three....and since we had to be at the Hospital so early we had nobody waiting in the waiting room...she was our 3rd and it was 5:30 in the morning...and you know what I loved it. I loved that it was just the three of us.

Every year these memories get a little more faint...and it breaks my heart. I think that is why I love photography so much...you can capture those beautiful moments in time....freeze them and they are yours forever.

Here is our beautiful 6 year old. Good Lord, she looks sooooo much like her Daddy.

The Silly Band craze has struck my house.

Miss Riley has the longest eyelashes......I am soooo jealous.

Geez how I love this child. I love her so much I feel like my heart is going to explode sometimes. When I come home from my "day job" she is the only person (and I have 2 dogs too) that stops what she is doing and runs and throws herself into my arms. She is so happy to see me and to be with me. Have I mentioned how much I love her.

Little Miss Sass.

We got to see lots of Koy fish but also some other critters...like bumble bees.

Showing off her "mad" jumpin' skills.

And then we were off to our next stop...Riley's favorite restaurant. DQ!
And she got her usual....vanilla cone with sprinkles.

Yummo!

Riley we love you so much. Happy Happy Happy Birthday!!

Nick - Class of 2011

Meet Nick...he is a Senior at Fort Zumwalt West...Class of 2011. I really enjoyed my afternoon with Nick....with his "all American" good looks...sweet laid back charm. He was a breeze to work with. Usually...well not usually...but a lot of times the "Senior guys" I get in front of my camera would rather be anyplace but there. But Nick never made me feel that way...he was up for anything and was nothing but kind and polite the whole time.

He has such beautiful eyes...and you will see throughout the post that they change color depending on what he is wearing. Super cool!

I will let you enjoy this handsome young man.....

I love that he brought the BEST prop ever!!

I remember trying hard to make him laugh...he was such a good sport.

I love this..."who ME??" look ;)

Cathy....thank you so much for contacting me....Nick is an amazing young man.
Nick...thanks for rockin the camera!! Good luck deciding on colleges....and enjoy your last year at Fort Zumwalt West. Your future is going to be astonishing!

Seriously Blessed.....

I have the pleasure of photographing some of the most beautiful people...inside and out. The Rojas' family was a perfect example. Look at them...seriously, they look like they belong in a magazine...but it is their kindness and fun, laid back spirit that made our time together so magical. I have these sessions where I walk away with so much joy and love for what I do, and that is exactly how I felt when I left my time with this amazing family.

Here they are...told ya! One good lookin' bunch.

I loved watching the dynamics of this group...Brittany, the big sister to two little brothers...Alex the middle child...quiet and kind of serious...but I could see the spark of fun in his eyes....then Joe...the baby...the "clown" of the family. :)

They even climbed a wall for me....love it!

Brittany...you are fierce girlfriend! Gorgeous!

The definition of cool.....and I was cool too...see...that is me reflected in her sunglasses :)

Alex...in his serious cuteness.

And Joe...your momma is gonna be chasing the girls off before too long.

And the smokin hot parents....Ok...seriously, the pics I got of Michelle and Rob are my favorite "married mom & dad" pics ever. These two rival some of my engagement and wedding couples. So obviously in love...and so amazing in front of the camera. Usually when I ask a set of parents to do much more than just smile at the camera...I get those uncomfortable looks...embarrassed maybe? Not these two...they were AMAZING...I could of taken their picture all day.

Ending with another favorite.....this was a special request from Michelle...and one of my favorite poses.
You guys ROCK! Can't wait to spend more time with you guys in the future!!
Thank you a million times over for making my picture happy heart soar!

Some Things are Just so Easy.....

Some things are just so easy....like having this amazing family in front of my camera. Seriously...between two adorable sweet daughters and parents they are obviously still crazy about each other. It was perfection.

We had to reschedule once because of the rain...but it ended up working out in our favor because we had a perfect night :)

Here they are.....

I love this next series of three...makes me smile big time.

Work it girls..... :)

And how about this beauty.....I love her blond hair with her brown eyes...what a stunning combo.
And she was sweet as pie...I could of taken her picture all day long.

You find the most delicious light in the strangest places :) I say that because up that hill in the background is a BIG pool...and parking lots and lots of not so pretty stuff....but this spot..was divine. There I go using some "new words".

This family pic just knocks my socks off....don't know what it is about it...well, obviously the beautiful family is pretty amazing. But there is something else...the body language, lighting...I don't know. But it is in my top 5 Lisa Kelly Photo favorite family pics ever!

And I am just as crazy about it in black and white.

Soooo excited, I get to take this beauty's Senior Pictures in a few days. Can't wait Jordan...woot woot!! We are gonna have a blast!

And jumping for joy....so cute!

Thank you thank you thank you....100x over Tojo Family. I had so much fun with you guys. It is awesome clients like you that make doing what I do a dream :)
