Happy 7th Birthday Baby!!

My baby turned 7 today.....she will always and forever be referred to as "my baby". She is such a big girl, I still like to think she is years younger than she actually is. It is a sick twisted thing and I should see someone about it really :)

She sneaks into bed with us most nights and even though it far from the most comfortable thing being squished between 2 people, I let her stay there. I let her stay and I breath her in and drift back off to sleep thinking that I will blink and she will be leaving for College and I will wish she was crawling into bed with us in the middle of the night.

Soooo....usually every year I take my girls out right before their birthdays for a birthday shoot. Riley, poor child has a birthday right smack dab in the middle of my busy season. So not only am I averaging 10+ shoots a week....I work a full time job that keeps me busy for an additional 40 hours a week. This is my 4th Fall in business and by far...I mean leaps and bounds FAR, it is the busiest ever. The good news for me....is my business continues to grow. The bad news for my baby....she didn't get a 7 year shoot. :(

So here she is....from her birthday party with her 9 SUPER adorable "best friends".

And wishing for something big...like a pink unicorn that poops glitter to keep in the backyard...or something like that :)

Baby girl, we are heading to the park Sunday night.
You will get your 7 year pictures....just a little late :)
We love you to the moon and back! You can stop growing up so fast now.
Thanks!
Mom

MINE

Once a year I go through the same pains as my clients....the pain of getting your family pictures taken ;) Oh, I LOVE pictures....love capturing that moment in time forever. But I hate bickering with my kids, watching my husband roll his eyes when I pick out what he is going to wear. Stressing months in advance about what we are going to wear. So I feel all your pain....I go through the same thing when it is my turn.

One of the MANY wonderful things about being a Photographer is the amazing relationships I have established with some of the very best "Photogs" in the Lou :) Seriously, this City of ours is bursting with some unbelievable talent. I have had our picture taken by someone different every year....I have used my girl Sherry Rosenberger quite a few times....one of my all time favorites Clary Pfeiffer last year. But for this year it was only seemed natural to use my girl Kelly Ferguson. Kelly is my dear dear friend and wedding partner extraordinaire. We decided this year we would photograph each others families, hand over the memory cards at the end of the shoots and edit our own stuff. I LOVED this....I had the control to chose which photos I want and edit them the way "I" wanted. I am also lucky to have Kelly handing over 15 or so images that she is going to edit (which I know will be fantastic).

This shoot is my FAVORITE ever....it could be the wonderful ages my girls are at (they listen and follow instructions)....it could be that the pain-staking hours I spent picking out outfits paid off. I loved our locations, I loved that we had lots of time and my girls were so comfortable because they were working with someone they know. Whatever it was, it was magic....Kelly produced pure and utter MAGIC. I could not be happier....and I thank her from the bottom of my heart for capturing my family exactly as I had envisioned.

So enough jabber......here we are. A little glimpse at the lights of my life :)

This shot below is in a big beautiful canvas at the top of my stairs and I smile  HUGE every time I walk past it :)

Kel,
Thank you so much for capturing us at this time of my life where
I am so in love with my kids. I love them every year, but for some
reason this year is so special to me. They are still so sweet and innocent but
yet they are grow up enough to work out what we were wanting them
to do in front of the camera :) I will treasure these always my friend.
LOVE you!!

Maryah Class of 2012

I knew I was going to LOVE taking Maryah's Senior pictures. Her mom Kelly is my bud and even though I don't see her as much as I like, she is one of those people that I can just pick up with like it was yesterday. I remember working with Kelly and hearing all about Maryah...and I think the first time I met her she was probably 12. Crazy how fast time flies!

This girl is COMFORTABLE in front of the camera....made my job easy peasy. She is so stunning with those amazing eyes of hers.....

I had to grab a close up of those lashes... so jealous :)

Ladies,
I loved hanging out with you all....I just wished that we had more time
to catch up! Soon though....very soon :)
Maryah...girl, you are a star! You gorgeousness is shining through
in all of these images...I can't wait for you to see the rest.
Your future is bright girl...I can't wait to hear about all your
adventures through your momma :)
Much love!

Family Fun Times Two

Another great session arranged by a dear friend of mine from my girls school. This little extended family shoot was extra special because Trisha's sister and family were in from Michigan to visit. I don't think they get to see each other very often. It made it even more special because Trisha was getting to meet her nephew for the first time. We had a great time together, the kiddos are so adorable :)

Little Ellie is one of Riley's BFF's....she is such a sweetie, so it was extra fun for me to take her pictures.

Darling cousins :)

The happiest baby....I could of taken his pictures all night long. Sooooo stinkin' cute!

I love your spunkiness Mr. Vaugh :)

Tickle time....I love that Ellie is all focused and ready for her close up. :)

Yep, your turn Ellie....

Thank you guys so much for asking me to meet up with you while family
was in town. I hope seeing these pictures reminds you of your visit with
your loved ones.

Kids & Dogs....a combo I LOVE :)

Here is the back story on this shoot. My BFF Mary's boyfriend Craig's mom Donna (did I loose you yet?? :)  ) wanted to have a shoot of her dogs (she has 6) with the Grand kids. Craig has three boys and also Mary's daughter (who is my gorgeous Goddaughter). I was a little intimidated thinking about working with 6 dogs and 4 kids under the age of 12. But I have heard so much about Craig's mom Donna and the amazing work she does with dogs, I knew her pups would be easy....and how could I pass up a chance to work with kids and dogs. I love them both!!

So I headed out to Craig's parents house and immediately felt so at home, such kind and welcoming people. The dogs were beautiful and well behaved...the kids were of course awesome! I flew through the shoot in 45 minutes...unbelievable. I was so shocked, but it was a smooth as silk. Love!!

Here are just a few highlights from our time together....

That is Craig and his baby ;)

Yep, and if you believe me...I got more than one of all kids and all dogs looking at me. Patting myself on the back as I type this ;) Honestly, it was all them...just good luck on my part :)

Favorite!! I have to tell you the few I snapped of the kids walking the dogs on the top of this hill crest were just beautiful. I want to go and do a whole session there...amazing light.

So Craig's mom is pretty amazing. She cares for neonatal puppies until they are old enough to go into foster homes. The puppies are brand new...sometimes just days old. Most of dumped some place, like this little guy. He and his brothers and sisters were found at a campsite. The amount of work that goes into bottle feeding and caring for this little babies is truly unbelievable. Like waking up every few hours for a feeding...of not just one puppy but multiple. Donna, I think your a Saint!

So sweet!

Ok, so my girl Mary is probably going to kill me for posting this. She didn't really want to "take" these pictures. It was a Sunday morning, she wasn't in "photo taking" attire, hair and make up. But honestly, the girl looks gorgeous bare bones like this...this image melts my heart. And hello, how freaking gorgeous is my Goddaughter. And when did she grow up on me all of a sudden???
So, Mary girl...your going to love this image with all your heart 20 years from now :)

Thank you all for being so welcoming, I really enjoyed myself
and I had nothing to be nervous about...you all were awesome!!
Donna, from an animal lover...thank you for what you do for these
abandoned puppies. I know they wouldn't have a fighting chance without
you. So nice to meet you guys and hope to see you in the future!
