Giving Back

This darling family of three came to me through my friend Kelly (the amazing Kelly of Kelly's Cakes & Cupcakes http://www.kellyscakesandcupcakes.com/) Kelly's Dad was very very sick and spent a lot of time in the Hospital, there were points when they weren't sure he would make it. Kelly and her two brothers came together and set up a fund raiser to help their Dad with the mounds of medical bills (awesome kids..huh!). When I heard they were setting up a silent auction, I was MORE than happy to donate a session to the cause.

And that brought me to this awesome family who won my Gift Certificate. Angie (mom) happens to be Kelly's Aunt...and I was really really excited to learn it went to a family member of Kelly's....awesome people in that family :)

We met up on a pretty (although windy) morning. I have to say I LOVE LOVE LOVE shooting families of three. They are just so fun and it is usually laid back and easy going kind of session...just like this one.

Cousins Make The Best Friends

I met up with this adorable family the night that Tornado's ripped through St. Louis. They were by far the bright spot in what was a pretty bad day. But look at these cuties...how could they not brighten your day.

We had a goal of getting some pictures of the cousins for a Mother's Day gift for Grandma. One the cutie on the left has been in front of my camera before...adore her. And I was equally excited to meet her cousins and to see they are just as adorable and so fun!

We got some family shots too and we lucked out with a great back up location to stay out of the rain. I love Ameristar :)

These two cousins are just days apart in age. They are so lucky to have this "best friend" as they grow up. I thought it was adorable that they referred to each other as my "sister".

Some Things are Just so Easy.....

Some things are just so easy....like having this amazing family in front of my camera. Seriously...between two adorable sweet daughters and parents they are obviously still crazy about each other. It was perfection.

We had to reschedule once because of the rain...but it ended up working out in our favor because we had a perfect night :)

And she was sweet as pie...I could of taken her picture all day long.

You find the most delicious light in the strangest places :) I say that because up that hill in the background is a BIG pool...and parking lots and lots of not so pretty stuff....but this spot..was divine. There I go using some "new words".

This family pic just knocks my socks off....don't know what it is about it...well, obviously the beautiful family is pretty amazing. But there is something else...the body language, lighting...I don't know. But it is in my top 5 Lisa Kelly Photo favorite family pics ever!

And I am just as crazy about it in black and white.

Soooo excited, I get to take this beauty's Senior Pictures in a few days. Can't wait Jordan...woot woot!! We are gonna have a blast!

Melissa, Chris & Gavin

Meet this adorable trio. Boy, am I crazy about how their pics turned out. I think what I love about them the most is the "life style" feel they have....life style or photojournalistic is my favorite shooting style and I jump at the chance to do it when I am given the green light so to speak. I knew Melissa also liked more candid images...so it worked out perfect.

Melissa and Chris were just as nice as could be and I enjoyed spending my morning with them. And Gavin....Gavin is ENERGY...and dimples and adorableness all rolled into one. He wasn't too sure about my camera...but no worries, I am SN-Eaky! And he is cute as can be and my camera loved him.
Onto the pics.....

These next 2 pics of Melissa and Gavin melt my heart. As a mom of three I know how incredibly fast our children grow. In a blink of an eye Gavin will no longer be holding his mommies face as he tells her some important stuff...but he will show her how much he loves her in other ways :) I am just so happy to have captured these sweet little moments so they have them frozen in time. That my friends is why I LOVE this job!

I love the next series of 3 of Gavin....is he NOT the cutest!!
