Sisters

I am a sucker for sisters. I don't know if it is because I don't have one of my own and always have felt like there is a small void in my life because of that fact. But I have always been "in awe" of the relationship between sisters. I have 3 girls of my own and I will continually preach to them "that they need to love and respect each other...they are each others best friend"

I was sooo thrilled when the momma of these 2 gorgeous girls suggested a "sisterly" session to document a monumental and bitter sweet milestone in their life. Jordan is heading off to College, she is choosing "Fashion Journalism" as her major....which I know she will ROCK at! The girl has amazing taste. I told her when she is a big fashion editor at Vogue.....she will have to hook a sista up :)

So, we met up on a beautiful light filled evening and I just let these girls be who they are.....sweet sisters on the brink of a major change in life. I know Jenna misses Jordan so much, they are about 9 years apart and I am positive that Jordan has been Jenna's role model, confidant and best friend.

Ok....on to the beautiful girls.....

They took a little family trip to New York this summer, and they brought a book along that reminded them of their travels. It was neat to be a "fly on the wall" and listen to them chat about the different spots they visited.

Oh yea, texting. Love it!

Ladies,
I am sooooo glad we got the chance to do this. This is by far one of my
favorite sessions to date. I hope it inspires over families with the oldest
sibling leaving for College to do something similar. I know I will be, when my
oldest daughter embarks on College in 5 years (WOW!)
You two are just awesome!!!!! Thank you for being you....and Jordan, I can't
wait to hear where life takes you. I know it has big things in store for you!
Hugs!

Lovin' all these baby BOYS!

I have been so lucky with all the adorable baby boys I have had the pleasure to work with lately. We have a "baby boy" coming to our family soon. My husbands brother and his wife are having their first baby in September and it is a boy! So getting to hold and play with all these baby boys is getting me really excited to meet my new nephew!

This little sweetie was 3 weeks old when I got to meet him, and he was the most wide awake and alert newborn I have ever worked with. Those peepers...wide open and bright and taking it all in.

I really think I got a little smile in this one...

See what I mean, he was studying everything.

And a little bit of belly time....he liked it better than most babies do at that age. Gosh, is he a cutie or what!

A little back story about this beautiful quilt. This quilt was made by his Great Grandma who would of been 100 years old in the same month he was born. The quilt was originally started in 1939, and it was finished by his Grandma (his mommy's mom) for his birth. Pretty awesome!

We wanted to get some of him on the quilt, but it was towards the end of the session...I got a few, but I really hope the quilt makes another appearance at our 3 month or 6 month session. :)

Here he is wrapped in the quilt that was made by many hands and lots of love!

My personal favorite of the day :)

Teeny tiny head....

And itty bitty toes...

And I will end with one of his gorgeous mommy and daddy. I love this shoot, he was checking out his Daddy..again, taking it all in.

I am soooo excited I get to capture all the big milestone dates of your little family.
You guys were so great to work with, and I loved meeting all of you. Even if I did go into
the wrong house at first...lol!
I will see you in October!

Sweet "New Baby" Goodness....

This sweet sweet baby boy was just a week old when I got to meet him. His mommy had the best ideas and props....like check out this owl hat...love love love!

And of course, one without the hat to show off his amazing head of beautiful dark hair.

He has an equally adorable big sister, she was such a little sweetie. She was so good about giving him kisses and snuggles when we asked her to.

I love baby feet :)

His mommy had seen a picture similar to this on the awesome "Pinterest"....I think we did a pretty darn good job recreating it. I loved it so much I have two favorites...love that he is a bit sleepier in the second shot, but I also love the placement of his little hand in the first one.

She also had this super neat sling, it was the first time I had worked with a knitted swing....I think I really gave mommy and Grandma a good arm workout having them hold it. I have to say, when I have seen these on other photographers pages...it sure looks easier than it is :)
But he looks so cute and comfy in it.

A surprise for Dad who is a HUGE O.U. fan. Hope he loves it.

And one of beautiful big sis.

LOVE LOVE LOVE this!

Thank you to Mommy and Grandma for all your help during this super
fun shoot. You guys were so wonderful to work with. Baby William was
AWESOME of course! Hope to see you guys again.
Enjoy these sweet first months :)

THIRTEEN!!!!

Thirteen years ago, this sweet beautiful baby girl made me a mommy for the first time. First, I would like to point out that I haven't aged one bit....(I am quite the comedian). But really, this is going to be a LONG post...because this is my blog and not only do I love to showcase my beautiful clients families. But it is also a record keeper of my life, that is when I get time to blog personal things :)

Our wonderful 1st born turned 13 on August 4th. She was actually gone on her birthday with my mother in law, she was in Ohio having the time of her life spending the week doing her most favorite thing...riding horses. I missed her like crazy, I felt like a piece of me was missing going through her entire birthday without being able to see her. But as a mother, we make many sacrifices....and I knew this trip would create life long memories for her.

She is back now, and I swear she grew an inch in the week she was gone.

Our Abby brings so much to our lives....she is such an easy child, which is wonderful because her two younger sisters can be....well, not so easy. She is the type of kid that just does the right thing, and that makes us so incredibly proud of her. We love her somethin' fierce!!

Here we are.....within her first days of life.

And here she is now. I know I am biased because I am her momma....but gosh darn it, is she pretty! I would of been thrilled to look like this at the age of 13. And I just have to say, so glad she has her Daddy's lips :)

Every year when my girls have their birthday's, we do a little "photo shoot". I honestly don't take many other pictures of my kids during the year...something I am desperately trying to work on. And with these photo shoots, I usually let them pick where they want to go. Or together we come up with a "theme" that fits them as they currently are. Well Abby loves our puppy Noel about as much as anything on Earth, besides riding horses. So we headed out to Three Dog Bakery with Noel for a fun little shoot.

Then it was party time! We had a BIG party for her this year....you only turn 13 once. It was a great time...full house, but great time. Here Abby is with her BFF since birth Jacquelyn. Abby and Jacquelyn are exactly 1 year and 3 days apart in age. Jacquelyn just celebrated her 12th birthday, and her mom is one of my oldest and dearest friends Mary. It is such an awesome thing for us to witness this amazing bond between our daughters, especially since we have known each other for almost 30 years!

And Abby's BFF's....such an awesome awesome group of girls!

Of course, I have to show the adorable "13" cookies and cake made by my friend Kelly of Kelly's Cakes and Cupcakes. She ROCKS!!

Make a wish!

So my super creative sister in law Jessica suggested I throw together a photo booth at the party. So we worked on pulling together some fun props...making some signs to urge people to "Get Silly" at the Photo Booth....and we sat my "point and shoot" camera there for everyone to snap away. People....you have got to do crazy things like this at parties. They are BY FAR some of my favorite pictures ever! Everyone got into it....the kids LOVED going and grabbing their favorite adults to join in. We will cherish these photos and they will bring us tons of smiles through the years. Just a few of my many many favorites! Of course had to start with one of all 3 of my girlie's....

If you read this whole thing, your awesome and deserve some extra
blog reader points :)

Abby Dabby Doo.....we LOVE you soooo much! So far, 13 has been
pretty awesome. I hope you continue to have an amazing outlook on life,
continue to be kind to everyone you meet.
We love you!!'
