Sweet Baby Boy

I LOVE newborn sessions, I would have to say they are my favorite at the moment. Maybe it is my bad case of baby fever that is making them my favorites. But newborns are so sweet, peaceful and make great subjects. And to see the love of a new family when it adds a first or fourth baby is amazing.

I couldn't wait to meet this little guy, I know his mommy personally and got to watch her pregnancy progress...and I waited with excitement to hear if he was a boy or a girl.

And here he is...an adorable baby boy.

I had the hardest time picking a favorite from this session because I LOVE so may of them. So I have 3 favorites. This is favorite #1.

I love how he is holding his little hands.
And the proud Daddy! Little Mr. Jonathan was so alert and had such impressive head control. Such a big guy and just a few weeks old.

And the whole beautiful family.

Here are the 3 little mommies.... a.k.a. big sisters.

I love how they are just "beaming" there was so much love in this home...it was beautiful to see.

We worked to get some little hand big hand shots...it was hard because this little guy is a move and a shaker...but I think we got some that worked out great.(I love how mom and dad's hands are intertwined)

So bright eyed. He didn't sleep at all, wide wide awake. I didn't get any sleepy pics until the very end when he was snuggled into his mommy's arms.

This shot is always my favorite. They just grow so darn fast, and I really love how it shows how small we all once were.

I love so much about this one. He fixed gaze (think he was looking at this big sis's here) and how relaxed he looks. I LOVE the composition of it so much...my photography teacher would be proud..ha ha.

Favorite #2....how can you NOT love this picture. Look at those cheeks...gosh he is so precious!

I found these last moments I spent with them the magical ones. The lighting was very dramatic (dark room, small amount of light coming through the window) but I think it just added to the love of mother and son. I was telling Holly (mom) earlier these made me tear up while I edited them. Little Jonathan is such a blessing to his family and I really feel that looking at these pictures.

And favorite #3. Beautiful!

Thank you guys for opening your home to me and sharing these early glimpses of you guys as a family of 6. You have such a beautiful family and Jonathan is a very lucky little guy.

I hope these photos bring you many smiles as he grows up into a BIG guy :)
See you soon!

Perfect Family To Brighten Cloudy January

I took 4 weeks off after Christmas to rest and recharge my batteries. Fall/Winter was extremely busy and many weekends I had little time for my own family...so the last 4 weeks were just what the Dr. ordered...so to speak. But by mid January I was starting to get antsy to get back behind the camera when I got an email from Rungsee. I was sooooo excited to schedule the session with his adorable family. I gave him a few suggestions on some indoor locations and was thrilled when they decided on The Foundry Art Centre....it has become one of my favorite spots.

We met early on a Saturday morning and literally had the whole place to ourselves, it was perfect....but what made it even more perfect was this great family. First of all some of the nicest people with the sweetest kids. I had to mention a few times how impressed I was with the kiddos and how sweet they were to each other. It was a truly a pleasure spending my Saturday morning with them.

See what I mean....look how sweet (AND ADORABLE) they are.

Little Noah was growling for me...he warmed up to me right away...which of course made my day. And he had the best ROARS ever!

Such a sweet heart....and the prettiest smile ever!

Another ROAR!

LOVE LOVE LOVE this one!

They were just the easiest family to photograph...if my darn memory card didn't fill up with over 360 pictures....I could of photographed them all day...or at least until the kiddos demanded lunch..ha ha.

I love this gallery with it's awesome local art and super shiny concrete floors. This is my 2nd favorite of the day.

Hi big guy! He was my buddy that morning...loved that.

Ok, seriously they could all be "teeth models"....if there is even such a thing..ha! Some awesome smiles going on here!

Favorite of the day. I LOVE everything about this photo...the composition of it, how Noah is leaning back...Sydney with her hands in her pockets and mom and dad perfectly blurred in the back ground.

Hi sweetie :)

Thank you guys for thinking "outside the box" and scheduling this session in January...for being so easy to work with and having the cutest & sweetest kids! I can't wait for you to see the rest, your CD is on it's way. Stay warm this winter...and hope to see you all again!

Denver

Jamey and I took a trip back in October to Denver for his brother Jason's wedding. We stayed for 5 days and had a great time. I liked Denver, but I wasn't BLOWN away by it....it wasn't until we were out of the City and driving up to Estes Park that I was just completely mesmerized. Estes Park is a little mountain town and it was just gorgeous...like we talked about looking at real estate and moving there gorgeous..HA! :)

Here I am (yes...a picture of me) in front of the official "Welcome" sign for Estes Park.

Miles and miles of road with this kind of view...breath taking.
So we spent hours walking around the town....Jamey was such a good hubby and went in about 90% of the stores with me. He actually took this photo below. It was perfect for our 3 girls at home....I didn't even notice it and am so happy he spotted it.

Pets everywhere....and people just tied them up to park benches and went in to cafes for lunch or stores to shop. Couldn't pass up this sweetie. Oh and the elk....like walking down the middle of the street with the cars...they were every where. It was very "Northern Exposure-ish"

Here is the town...and I am in LOVE with this pic.

Right outside of Estes is The Stanley Hotel. It is a historic hotel. And I have heard 2 stories.
Story #1 is that this is the Hotel that The Shining was filmed (you know Jack Nicholson...super scary). Story #2 is that Stephen King stayed at The Stanley and it is here that he created the story The Shining. I believe story #2 is probably the truth. But the Hotel was awesome to see and I felt like I was at the same Hotel The Shining was filmed.

Here is Jamey giving me his best "scary" face. Herrrreeee's Johnny! Perfect Jack imitation :)

We stopped at this little winery that was built into the mountains. It was really nice and so peaceful.
Wow.....TWO pictures of me. I LOVE wine.

Now....the reason for the trip. Jason and Amy were married...and I am thrilled to have another sister in law. The wedding was gorgeous and I think Jamey and I are both happy to see Jason finally married....honestly didn't think it would ever happen. But they are so happy!
I loved that I was there as family...but still able to capture some gorgeous photos for them.

The gorgeous couple. Amy made such a beautiful bride.

We hope to get back to Denver again soon....maybe when we get to meet a new niece or nephew....huh-hum...hint hint :)

Awesome End to an Awesome Year!

Ok, this one of Sandy and Rob was supposed to be at the bottom with the other couples, but my post got messed up and it ended up here on top. But that is ok....what a gorgeous couple to start this post with. And I love their expressions...they were crackin' up at something (still not sure what..ha) but I love how cute they are.

Ok, on with the show :)
2009 was such a great year for Lisa Kelly Photo and I couldn't of picked a better family to end the year with. I had the pleasure of photographing Sandy and her beautiful family this summer and they were such a blast. So I knew when she contacted me for a session with her husband Rob's extended family it was going to be great. We met on Dec 26th and it was a cold cold snowy day. We originally planned to shoot outside, but the cold made us change our plans. Sandy was awesome with helping me brainstorm a new location. We decided on The History Museum. It worked out perfect, it was a little darker and a little busier (who would of thought) than I would of liked....they were so easy to work with and a ton of fun...so we worked it out. We even grabbed a few outdoor shots at the end...and of course they were my favorites.

Here they are...aren't they adorable. I mean seriously, some darn good lookin people! We thought it would be neat to get the Spirit of St. Louis in the background, I LOVE how it turned out.

I love this one too! Look at the girls with their hands on their hips...how awesome are they?!?

This is the first "large family group" that I had all teens to work with it, and I love my little guys and gals...but this was truly awesome! You could see how close they all are and they were so much fun! I could only imagine all the fun, crazy stuff I could of had them doing if we weren't surrounded by Museum Security :)

This my friends....is my favorite shot of the session. I know, it is a booty shot...but I love it!

This one where you can see their faces is pretty darn cute too! And we got it outside.... LOVE.

And the grand kids with grandma. Grandma is gorgeous, seriously...I can see where all these beautiful kiddos get their looks.

The next are candids that were caught by my second shooter and my sister in law Jessica. Jessica is going to be assisting me a LOT more in 2010 and if you book a large family session, she will be there with camera in hand to capture those candid moments. I love this series of 4, Jessica did such a great job!

She nailed this jump shot...

This one she caught of Grandma and Christian is my 2nd favorite of the day. I love it!

Now on to some family shots. I love this one, and the snow coming down really adds to it.

And the whole family, how cute are they!

This is probably my favorite "indoor" family shoot. I love the red and black.

And this is Sandy and her gang.

And the couples, I LOVE couple time :) Sharon (below) was so darn cute....she was so excited to get some fun, romantic shots with her husband. I love how they turned out, this one was my favorite. Look at how they look at each other....

I love this one, how gorgeous is that red with their dark coloring.....it just pops. Great choice of color guys.

One of my favorite....these couple shots seriously make me smile BIG.

I had a BLAST with you guys! Thank you for being flexible on locations, patient while I scouted out the best spots with the best lighting and for just being so much fun! I wish you all a fantastic 2010!
