Sweet Baby Maria

I love everything about newborn shoots. I love watching "big sisters" with their new babies, moms and dads who are exhausted but so head over heels in love with their new baby. When a client books a "first year session" with me. I am over the moon with happiness....because I get to watch these little ones grow up the first year. And this family is one that I know I am going to get very attached to...and I can not wait to watch sweet little Maria grow over this next year. Plus her mommy had her dressed in adorable little outfits with the best bows....so I know I am going to LOVE the fashion with this little one.

And I can not forget to talk about her big sister, who is so incredibly beautiful....but also a huge helper and sweet as can be. I LOVE what I got of this family and thankful the weather was pretty enough for us to spend some time outside in their green green grass :)

This one kills me....and OH MY!! to those eyes :)

See what I mean by "amazing" big sister....Maria is one lucky little girl to have this big sister in her corner.

She had a birthday coming up....and every birthday girl needs her own pictures to document the big day :) Tell ya what....Tyra Banks watch out....she was a natural in front of the camera.

I can NOT wait until 3 months....I had such an amazing time capturing these. Excited to see what the next year brings. Oh...and we will have to do a Maria & Mason photo shoot one day too :)

Kelly & I are about to get knee deep in Weddings....and I can't be any more excited for it! But until then, I am finishing up 3 gorgeous sessions.

This sweet little 6 month old who had the sweetest expressions....and a great name :)

And this big family, who was by far the easiest "big family" group I have ever worked with....and has some super cute kiddos!

Clara - 3 months

Oh....my Clara Boo. This is my adorable niece that is now 3 MONTHS OLD...wow! time flies. I already warned everyone that you would see lots and lots of Miss Clara on this blog. But she is so darn cute...I am sure you blog viewers enjoy it as much as I do :)

This was a very rainy nasty day outside.....but Clara's room is always so bright and cheery. Here she is hanging out in her bed waiting for her momma to come pick out her "hair accessory" for the shoot :)

I love her room....so girly and pink :) My sister in law has amazing decorating taste....and she also has 2 older sisters with even more amazing taste (if that is even possible) so she had some help throwing together Clara's adorable room. Love the wall graphic :)



My favorite of the day....

Then she grabbed her pacifier....she was crackin' Jess and I up. But these are the sweet little moments that Jess and Shawn will be so glad they have in print many years from now.

Kearsten is the best older sister....she has lots of practice, as she has a brother and sister that are her moms. It is nice to see her in the role of big sister to Clara though. And I already knew Shawn was a great Dad....he is just a natural with kids. Jess is a wonderful step mom to Kearsten, but to see her in the role of mommy to Clara....she is just awesome. It is so obvious how head over heels she is for her and it is neat to see.

Boy! I sure have some gorgeous nieces.....they must get that from me. Hahahaha.....almost feel out of the chair for that one ;)

Future Miss America :)

First of all, can you believe this beauty is 12? She has the poise and class of someone much older...and she is just such a natural beauty!

I met up with her and her amazing mom for a super quick "head shoot/portfolio" type shoot. I did a similar shoot for another young lady who was competing for Miss Missouri about 2 years ago. So it was really fun to do something like this again. This young beauty has a very bright future! Good luck in your pageant next month....I know you'll do great!

Introducing Fred....and Five Very Cute Cousins!

I was looking forward to meeting all of these cute kiddos. Usually when I have groups of extended families, I see them for whole family shoots, and don't get to see the kids interact too much with each other. So to have just some cousins hanging out and having fun was a nice change of pace. I have to tell you...these kids were SOOOOO well behaved- total sweet hearts! They came out dressed in such great bright colors (I am all about the colors) and I love how the color pops in these pictures.

Workin' the camera like a pro!

I was on my toes chasing this little guy around, but as you will see in a few photos down, I had a secret weapon!

And now my secret weapon will be revealed.....meet Fred the Chicken :)  Fred goes with me on any shoot where I am working with kids. He makes the most annoying squawking noise but kids big and small LOVE it. They usually end up being more interested in Fred than in taking pictures and sometimes I have to put them in a headlock to get Fred back (kidding...sort of...ha ha). I'm so excited that I got my first official Fred photo....this is going up on the wall in my office!

Such cuties!! And seriously, look at that color. Awesome!!

We did these at the end and this little guy was done for the day, but I LOVE this one. The way big sis has her arms wrapped around her sweet baby brother is so precious and I love how his little hands are clasped together. So sweet.

Thank you moms soooo much for dressing your darling kids so beautifully and for getting up extra early on a weekend! I had a great time with them :)
